It only takes a minute or so to scan a patient’s mouth and is completely painless. CBCT
A CBCT is a special piece of equipment that moves around a patient’s head to capture complete x-rays of several anatomical systems. This includes the teeth and soft tissues, surrounding oral cavity, jaw, neck, and the nose, ears, and throat. These x-rays are used to record bone measurements, examine sinuses and nerves, and identify lesions.
CBCT stands for cone beam computed technology. In just a few minutes, hundreds of x-rays are taken at numerous angles and this data is sent to a computer and is reconstructed to form a 3D image. Significantly less radiation is emitted compared to traditional x-rays, decreasing patient risk. Like the iTero scanner, this fast and pain-free process ensures patients receive accurate treatment recommendations and solutions.
